Stoke Newington Sting - Premier Cru Edition (Heather Grey)
£29.00
"Dance like a butterfly, sting like a bee," said Mohammed Ali, famously quoting the Stoke Newington rookie quarterback D'Junior Chickpizz.
Bees are our friends - without them the ecosystem would fall apart because no one would have any honey for their porridge. London's bee population was decimated in World War 2, so allotment owners around Clissold Park took it upon themselves to boost the waning numbers. The park was a constant buzz, and quickly the farmers built up a small fortune from sales of their liquid gold. They used this money to fund the local amateur sports club, renaming them "Sting" and building a cosy 30,000 seat stadium known affectionately as The Beehive. The club tends to at as a feeder club for the Hackney Braves, with many star players making the transition. However he club is successful in its own right, with a Megabowl title to it's name for the 1983 season.
Although beekeeping is now long gone from the park, several other species have been the subject of conservation projects - notably bunny rabbits and deer. Throw on this tee and get the bees back into Clissold Park!
The design is black and yellow, screen printed onto the finest quality American Apparel tee (heather grey colour). This limited edition version features our Premier Cru label. See the FAQ section for tips on product care.
